Alex Trebek, the famous host of the longest-running game show “Jeopardy!” was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in March 2019. The survival rate for patients with pancreatic cancer at that stage is incredibly low.

2. Ruth Bader Ginsburg
As the second female Justice to be confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an inspiration to all. What you may not know is that she has struggled with cancer for a long time. She was first diagnosed with early-stage pancreatic cancer in 2009.
She underwent radiation therapy last summer after another malignant tumor was identified in her pancreas.

18. Michelle Monaghan
In 2011, the famous “Mission: Impossible III” star revealed that she had undergone treatment for skin cancer a few years prior. After her husband encouraged her to have a suspicious mole checked, doctors discovered that it was cancerous.
She credits her husband’s encouragement with catching the cancer early and sparing her a long battle with it.
19. Ronald Reagan
Ronald Reagan, the well-known actor and U.S. President that served during the Cold War era, discovered that he had a cancerous spot on his face in 1987. Doctors removed the patch, and he was declared cancer-free. He’d previously had two cancerous spots surgically removed.

The famous actress was diagnosed with skin cancer at the young age of 21. Why so young? Keaton blames it on the unhealthy amounts of sunbathing she did in order to get tanned. Today, she never goes outside without applying a generous amount of SPF to her skin.
21. Anderson Cooper
Anderson Cooper found out that he had skin cancer in 2008 when he was following then-presidential candidate Barack Obama on the campaign trail. The journalist underwent surgery to remove the spot on his skin and was declared cancer-free.
Famous Prostate Cancer Survivors

22. Charlton Heston
Charlton Heston, known best for his roles in “Ben-Hur” and “The Ten Commandments,” found out he had prostate cancer after hip replacement surgery. Thanks to a series of radiation treatments, his cancer went into remission, never to return.
23. Colin Powell
Powell, the first African American to serve as Secretary of State (under President George W. Bush), discovered that he had prostate cancer in 2003. The same year, he underwent surgery and was declared cancer-free shortly thereafter.
24. Nelson Mandela
Mandela, South Africa’s first Black president, found out that he had prostate cancer in 2001. He chose to undergo radiation treatments and afterward was declared cancer-free at the age of 83.
25. Andrew Lloyd Webber
Andrew Lloyd Webber, the man responsible for creating worldwide hits including “Cats” and “The Phantom of the Opera,” found out that he had early-stage prostate cancer during a routine blood test in 2009.
Rather than radiation treatments, Webber chose to have his prostate removed. Since then, Webber has been thankfully cancer-free and is an advocate for early prostate cancer testing for men 50 years old or older.
26. John Kerry
In 2002, John Kerry found out that he had prostate cancer during a routine checkup. Since his father had passed away from prostate cancer, he decided to have the prostate gland surgically removed.
Post-surgery, Kerry was declared cancer-free, and he went on to serve as U.S. Secretary of State under President Obama. He remains an advocate for early screening for cancer detection.
